Carlton Hotel Group Case Study

CASE STUDY: CARLTON HOTEL GROUP, JUNE 2010

Website re-design leads to increased bookings and cost savings for Carlton Hotel Group

The Challenge

Two years after the redeveloment of carlton.ie, (when Carlton Hotel Group first partnered with p3), Ireland's growing hotel group required a new look and feel for its’ most important 'shop window'.

As a key revenue driver for the group, managing booking, increasing conversion rate and improving cross-sell oppourtunities was a key priority.

The Solution

The project involved a complete redesign and restructuring of www.Carlton.ie and the individual hotel websites. The group has achieved a new look and feel, in line with the company's 4 star luxury brand. New features included the addition of virtual tours, video content and enhanced google mapping. Additonal functionality was also added to Carlton’s customised booking engine.

Cross Selling Opportunities growing daily

The addition of new hotels to the Carlton group had made “cross-selling” a must have. The newly enhanced booking engine has increased the group's ability to cross-sell, using “location searching” and “alternative property suggestions”. Searches for a hotel that is already full, return the hotel’s closest partner in terms of location, while users who just search for a hotel in Dublin, are given results for all Carlton hotels in that location.

PMS integration leads to Cost and Time Savings

Integration with the groups PMS (Hotsoft) was completed alongside the redesign. This has resulted in a significant time saving for reservations staff. Bookings are delivered directly to the hotel's reservations system. this has eliminated data inputting and freed up staff to focus on customer service.
